Hello! I am Marja and I work part-time as the Communications Consultant, focusing on communications activities, marketing, event organizing, and some administrative tasks. With my background and experience working in big multinational companies as a personal assistant to C-level managers, I’ve gained some valuable skills in managing my current job, coordinating communication, organizing events and supporting in administrative duties.

From the moment I joined NorthCode, I was surrounded by interesting and genuine individuals in an environment where each person is truly respected. It’s rare to find a workplace that values authenticity so highly, and this sense of respect made me feel at home right away.

My best days at work are when I get to meet our specialists in person at events. Witnessing everyone come together, sharing ideas, brainstorming, and genuinely enjoying themselves is a rewarding experience for me. The positive energy during these gatherings always reinforces why I love what I do. I also appreciate the lively discussions in our internal channels, where my colleagues' clever wordings often make me laugh out loud.

One of the things I’m most proud of is the relationships I’ve built within the company and the successes we’ve achieved together. Whether it’s in communications, marketing, or administrative support, I’ve had the opportunity to develop professionally while strengthening bonds with my colleagues. Honestly, it’s a bit amusing how great it is to know there’s IT support around every corner—no problem goes unsolved for long!

Outside of work, I am passionate about handicrafts, with a particular focus on creating amigurumis—Japanese-inspired crochet figures—and designing my own crochet patterns. You can check out some of my designs here. I love music and enjoy playing the piano and flute, which I consider a form of personal therapy. I spend a lot of time juggling household responsibilities and caring for my children, mastering the art of balancing my personal and professional life—sometimes with the grace of a well-choreographed dance, and other times with a little creative chaos!
